Install ChiroPulse

Your CHIROSERVER is the computer with your ChiroPulse database, it runs the Microsoft SQL database engine and has ChiroServer Tools & Backup installed. The ChiroServer PC typically also runs the ChiroPulse365 client (unless you have a dedicated server which is not recommended for most offices). A STAND-ALONE PC is both a Server & Client. The Network Workstation connects to the database (running on the Database SQL Server) and runs only ChiroPulse365.

#I. Install DataEngine & ChiroServer Tools (on the Server or stand-alone PC [download link [3]]
#II. Install ChiroPulse365 on each computer to be used & licensed [download link] [4]
#III. Install the latest Refresh/Update each Computer [download link [5]]
#IV. License/Activate CP365 on each Computer. (see below)


Please review the screenshots at the end of section #3 for more visuals. It is pretty easy (don’t be scared)!

BEFORE YOU START
Make sure to run Windows updates and restart your computer. You don’t want to install new programs when “Windows must install updates” messages appear”. Please review our “network” articles here http://chiropulse.com/blog/?tag=network  [6] notably the “Windows Networking, File Sharing & Connectivity Setup” article at bare minimum.

# I. On the Server or single stand-alone computer install the ServerTools & Data Engine…

  1. CLICK HERE (or right-click) to download & save to desktop [3] the CHIROSERVER/ENGINE INSTALL FILE
  2. Run this downloaded Installation file on your Server PC:
    • After the download is completed, EXIT ALL PROGRAMS & DISABLE SECURITY AND ANY “anti spyware” software as this will interfere with Microsoft SQL Server installation.
    • Double click on the file you just downloaded cpServerOnly-51x
      (Windows 8, Windows 7 & Windows Vista users Right-click over the file then select “Run as administrator“. See help below) .
    • Press the OK/YES/Run if prompted then click the UNZIP button. Now let the files unzip & when completed the Installation Homepage will launch.
    • Follow the installation steps & wait until completion before moving to the next step.
  3. When completed you will see these new additions to Windows…
    • ChiroServer Tools & Backup icon on your desktop & in Start Menu >> All Programs >> ChiroPulse Server folder
    • Add/Remove Programs: Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (or SQL Server Express if using Vista/Windows7)
  4.  Proceed to the next step.

# II. Install ChiroPulse365 on each computer that it will be used…

ChiroPulse365 Client New/Clean Install – this installs the ChiroPulse365 client software that you use to work with patients, billing, schedule, etc. ChiroPulse365 client should be installed on all computers that you purchased (or will purchase) a license for (Server, Stand-Alone & each Network PC)

  1. CLICK HERE (or right-click) to download & save to desktop [4]the CHIROPULSE365 CLIENT INSTALL file:
  2. Run this downloaded Installation file on your Server PC:
    • After the download is completed EXIT ALL PROGRAMS
    • Double click on the file you just downloaded 365CLIENT_5xx.exe to start the installation
    • Press the OK/YES/Run if prompted
    • When installing, press Install then [Finish] button
    • Follow the installation steps & wait until completion before moving to the next step.
    • When completed you will see these new additions to Windows…
      • ChiroServer Tools & Backup icon on your desktop & in Start Menu >> All Programs >> ChiroPulse Server folder
      • Add/Remove Programs: Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (or SQL Server Express if using Vista/Windows7
  3. After installation is complete start ChiroPulse365, select the SERVER & login.
    • Go to your SERVER PC, open ChiroServer Tools/Backup and write down the exact spelling (it’s not case sensitive) of SERVER NAME
    • Select your database & server PC. It is important to use in a real-life office ChiroPulseDBMaster (not the “dbDemo” you might have been using for the trial):
      • Start ChiroPulse365 (from Desktop shortcut or start — all programs — ChiroPulse365)
      • At the Initial splash/License Info window click Open
      • At the ChiroPulse 365 Login window press the [Select Server PC] button.
      • In the Server Name field type in your SERVER PC NAME from above.
        You can click the [OtherPC] button to see a list of PCs on your network if you forget or misspell the server name. You should lick [Explore Server PC] to verify that you can read the PulseSQL data folder.
      • Under Choose Database select ChiroPulseDBmaster
      • Press OK and return to the login screen
      • Now login with the username “pulse” (no quotes, no password) or whatever usernames your office has previously assigned. You can change this or create a new login anytime. See the new user help at Member Center
  4.  Proceed to the next step.

# III. Install the latest Refresh/Update on each CP365 computer

ChiroPulse365 is continually updated so after the initial installation it’s vital to install the latest “refresh” so that you have the latest update. This should be done on each computer, starting with the SERVER computer.

  2. After installing the refresh/updated on all of your licensed ChiroPulse PCs you are FINISHED!

Additional Help & Screenshots (Server Install/Download)

1. press SAVE
2. Save in DESKTOP (or network SERVER shared file area)
3. WINDOWS VISTA/Windows7 USERS: Right-click over the file for pop-up menu then click Run as administrator
4. press RUN if prompted to continue
5. press UNZIP
6. Now the install homepage will launch. Follow instructions there.

Once the download is completed DOUBLE-CLICK on the file to start the installer. WINDOWS VISTA/7/8 USERS: Right-click over the file for pop-up menu then click Run as administrator (see picture above).
press RUN if prompted to continue. The ChiroPulse InstallShield Wizard will begin
press Next
click I ACCEPT then press Next
Press Install and wait until it’s finished!
Press Finish & You’re done!

NOTE – if you get an error “can’t create output file” that means you either are using Vista and didn’t follow the above instructions or you didn’t close ChiroPulse. Restart your PC if needed prior to installing. NOTE 2 – when installing the ChiroServer refresh, please follow the onscreen instructions after installation to backup and update your database if needed.
