ChiroServer Tools & Backup ZIP or MSDE/SQL fails to create

If the ZIP or MSDE/SQL backup fails on Windows 7 or Vista and you are prompted to do the SQL backup please do this on your Server (or Stand-Alone) PC:

  • Right click over the ChiroServerTools & Backup icon and in the popup menu select properties. Now click “Compatibility” tab and check “Run this program as an administrator“.
  • Now restart ChiroServer Tools & Backup and retry the ZIP backup.This is a permission/ownership issue regarding creation of the backup file. Running ChiroServer Tools & backup as a windows administrator allows it to work as intended.
